East Timor failed to win any medals in this edition of the Games. For some time it was thought that the timorese athlets wouldn't participate in the Games, but they eventually confirmed that they would indeed take part in them. Along with Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau, their main goal was to win experience for future Games.
